The sled form that inspired Tell City's reproduction was discovered at an antique auction in Maine. This sled is as much a piece of art as it is a reproduction of the original. Artistic license was taken with the creation of the Tell CityŽ Sled Works and the graphic scene depicting their Victorian era "sled factory". While they were busy making chairs in 1865 it's easy to imagine the sleds that might have been produced. This original graphic design is offered with an antique black finish that is worn slightly on its face and edges and has cracked with age. With muted crimson lettering, the factory scene and embellishments are depicted in a softened gray.
